Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall has entered the transfer portal. The passer broke the news on social media Wednesday, and he should be one of the most sought-after players on the market.

It’s a process McCall is familiar with given he was in the portal last year. Uncertainty is not uncommon as there was also speculation that he’d enter the 2022 NFL Draft as a redshirt sophomore.

Through it all, he decided to stick with CCU.

In fact, he emphatically pledged his loyalty to the program after that ’21 season in which he set the FBS record for passer efficiency.

“When I say I p— teal, I mean it,” McCall wrote in that announcement. “One last ride!”

It wouldn’t be his last ride, however, despite throwing for 2,700 yards and posting a 24/2 touchdown to interception ratio as a junior. But while the NFL didn’t come calling, a few other programs did.

Auburn was the most notable, and with Coastal Carolina head coach Jamey Chadwell accepting the Liberty gig, many believed McCall would move on.

Again, that Chanticleer allegiance won out.

Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out as he’d hoped in 2023. Dealing with injuries, the quarterback played in just seven games and failed to reach the 2,000-yard mark for the first time in his career.

Though he’s already exhausted his redshirt season, the extra COVID year gives him a chance to run it back one last time.

And those words about p—ing teal are going viral once again.

Grayson McCall enters the transfer portal.

McCall entered the portal for the second time in as many years this week, making an announcement on social media.

Despite last season’s injury troubles, he’s sure to garner attention from a number of top programs. Power Five teams are always looking to add experience and production, and McCall would provide just that.

Auburn fans are already salivating given the duo’s courtship this past offseason, but they’re not the only ones reacting.

Many online have begun to repost his previous statement about his Coastal Carolina loyalties.

While some pick fun at the situation, those around the CCU program are appreciative of what he accomplished.

Thanks for all the memories. Just don’t forget to p— teal forever! Go be great wherever you are. Forever a fan!”

“Just know you put Conway, South Carolina boldly on the map and got people proud to p— teal in a good way!!!”

Over his four-plus seasons with the Chants, Grayson McCall racked up over 10,000 passing yards and threw 88 touchdowns (with just 14 INTs!).

The three-time Sun Belt Player of the Year is likely off to a new destination, though the option of a return is still on the table.
