Guy Fieri has released a statement on social media after being spotted greeting Andrew and Tristan Tate at UFC 327 in Miami over the weekend. Fieri claims he had no idea who they were.

In a video taken by BroBible writer Jorge Alonso, Guy Fieri — a.k.a. the ‘Mayor of Flavortown’ — could be seen dapping up controversial right wing “man-o-sphere” influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan.

The Tate brothers were indicted in Romania on charges of human trafficking, r—, and forming an organized criminal group, and the case has been ongoing since their initial detention in December 2022. Andrew Tate has also faced separate allegations in the UK and US.

Guy Fieri releases statement claiming that he has no idea who Andrew and Tristan Tate are after being recorde greeting them at UFC 327

“I’m seeing all of your comments about the photo from Saturday’s UFC event and all I can say is that I’m devastated,” Fieri shared on social media on Tuesday, April 14.

“I was there to see the fights and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello and that’s when the exchanged happened.  I did not know them or about them before that moment.   I’ll never pretend to be a perfect person but let me be crystal clear,  I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way.”

Alonso, who witnessed the moment first hand, reposted the video on social media with added context of how Fieri was acting in the moment.

Given that the Tates have been fighting extradition and prosecution in Romania, perhaps he could be plotting to seek refuge in Flavortown.
