The First Trailer For Kevin Costner’s Massive Two-Part Western Epic ‘Horizon’ Is Here

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Horizon: An American Saga, the upcoming two-part, Civil War-set Western epic film from Kevin Costner, who directed and stars in the project.

Horizon: An American Saga will be a two-part film. However, unlike most modern two-parters, they will be released just about a month away from each other, as Chapter 1 will hit theaters on June 28 and will then be followed by Chapter 2 on August 16.

Horizon: An American Saga explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won—and lost—through the blood, sweat and tears of many.

Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.

Horizon is the first time Costner has directed a film since 2003’s Open Range. During his now five-decade-long career, Costner has directed four films.

Famously, his 1990 directorial debut Dances with Wolves took how the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, and Best Sound Mixing. Costner himself was almost nominated for Best Actor.

The film boasts an ensemble cast that features the likes of Costner Sienna Miller, Giovanni Ribisi, Sienna Miller, Jamie Campbell Bower, Thomas Haden Church, Luke Wilson, Jena Malone, Michael Rooker, and more.
