How to Watch FREE Horror Movies This Halloween via Plex

Horror Movies

Spooky season is here, which means it’s time to cozy up on the couch, gorge yourself on that Halloween candy you bought too early, and give yourself some fun frights with the perfect horror movie. If you’re like me, you’re tired of the same generic horror movies full of jump scares.

That’s why I’m stoked to choose from Plex’s incredible library of horror movies. The best part? They break them down based on the kind of movie experience that you want. You can have it as scary, not scary, campy, or laugh-out-loud funny as you desire. Here are some of my personal favorites available now on Plex.

Cheap Thrills

Horror Movies

The 1980s are chock full of cheesy horror movies, but one of my personal favorites has always been Children of the CornWe all at some point in our childhoods got annoyed with our parents and imagined living on our own free of their rules. This might be a tad extreme version of that scenario, but it’s a wild ride with demons, inconveniently broken-down cars, and…well…corn.

There are a million ridiculous vampire movies, but how many of them can boast about having Sir Ben Kingsley AND Meat Loaf? Just one: BloodRaynebased on the 2000s video game series. Movies based on video games are always ridiculous and over-the-top, and this flick is no exception.

Are you a fan of movies, TV, or video games where there can only be one winner in a battle for survival? Almost all of them were inspired by the Japanese thriller Battle RoyaleIt’s one of the craziest movies I’ve ever seen, and Quentin Tarantino called it one of his favorite movies of all time. Not a bad endorsement to have in your back pocket.

Sugar and Fright

Horror Movies

Because not every horror movie has to be just scary. You might not expect a movie about fighting Nazi zombies to be funny, but that’s exactly how Dead Snow turns out to be and it’s delightful. Now I know not to go on trips with friends deep in the woods of Norway.

Sometimes it’s nice when movies tell you exactly what to expect right in the title. Killer Klowns from Outer Space. That’s pretty much all you need to know. Why haven’t they made a sequel yet?

I’m a sucker for horror movie parodies, and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil might be the best one ever made. What starts as a misunderstanding with two friendly hillbillies turns into a slapstick bloodbath. This movie just goes to show that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. If you do, you and all of your friends will die in a gruesomely hilarious fashion.
