Easily one of the most enjoyable aspects of the Kingsman franchise is seeing beloved British actors take on various James Bond-esque action hero roles.

In the first two films, of course, you’ve got Colin Firth alongside Mark Strong, and in the 2021 prequel The King’s Man, the great Ralph Fiennes serves as the lead of the movie.

Speaking to Kingsman franchise director Matthew Vaughn ahead of the release of his new film Argylle, BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast — noting that, in addition to being acclaimed English actors, they’re all born between the years 1960 and 1963 — asked if there were any similar actors that he’s eyeing for the upcoming trilogy concluder.

And the first name that came to Vaughn’s mind was: Hugh Grant.

“You’ve had Colin Firth, you’ve had Ralph Fiennes, you’ve had Mark Strong: tell me, who is the next beloved, acclaimed British actor born between the years 1960 and 1965 that you’re hoping to cast next?” BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast while speaking to Vaughn ahead of the release of his new film Argylle.

“They have to be born between the years ’60 and ’65?” Vaughn wondered.

“That’s just what you’re doing, man, I’m just connecting the dots,” we noted.

“What year is Hugh Grant born? Out of interest… that would be the… you know the next Kingsman movie is the conclusion of the Eggsy and Harry story, there are some surprising new characters that we’re introducing, the problem is Taron [Edgerton] has become so bloody successful, it’s finding time in his diary now,” Vaughn said.

Hugh Grant’s birthday, by the way, is September 9… 1960!

Vaughn’s new film Argylle is now playing in theaters after being released on Thursday, February 1. After its theatrical run, it will then begin streaming on AppleTV+.

The film boasts an ensemble cast, starring Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, and more.
