Both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are preparing for their respective superhero roles in Deadpool 3, and based on their social media posts, it would appear the pair are trying to outdo each other at any turn.

A few weeks after taking to Twitter to share some of his Wolverine workout routines, the 54-year-old has again taken to the social media app to share a look at his training for Deadpool 3, this time sharing his absurd bulking diet from “Chef Mario.”

Given that Jckman’s tweet says “a day in the life,” it’s safe to assume that all of the food in the picture will be consumed in a single day. According to the labels on the packaging, all of that food equals a whopping 8,300 calories.

Deadpool 3 will be Jackman’s first time playing the iconic Marvel mutant since 2017’s Logan, which marked the original end of the character’s cinematic run. Following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox a few years ago, though, fans always hoped Jackman would return, and because of Reynolds and Deadpool, he has.

While not much is known about the plot of Deadpool 3 — the writers of the film, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, told us during an interview last summer the film would be a “fish out of water” story — recent rumors have indicated that Jackman could be playing multiple characters.

Despite Jackman’s starring role in Deadpool 3, it’s still unlikely that he plays Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward as the franchise will likely look to reboot the X-Men from scratch in the coming years.

At this time, Deadpool 3 — which will be directed by Free Guy and Night At The Museum filmmaker Shawn Levy — is scheduled to begin filming later this year and is set to hit theaters in the United States on Friday, November 8, 2024. The film will be the first R-rated movie in the history of the MCU.
