Jared Leto steps into the shadows of a crime syndicate and joins the Yakuza in the first trailer for Netflix’s The Outsider. Leto stars as Nick Lowell, an American soldier who is imprisoned in Japan after World War II. His cellmates help him get released from prison, but in order to repay his debt, Lowell must do some dirty work for the Yakuza and it is dangerous. Lowell gets deeper and deeper into Japan’s criminal underground and finds himself fighting for his life. There are some John Wick-esque scenes as well as a typewriter being used as a deadly weapon in the first trailer for The Outsider.
The Netflix crime-thriller is directed by Martin Zandvliet and produced by Ken Kao, John Linson, and Art Linson. Besides the Oscar-winning Leto, the movie stars Tadanobu Asano, Kippei Shiina, Shioli Kutsuna, Emile Hirsch, Raymond Nicholson, Rory Cochrane, Nao Omori, and Min Tanaka.
