Jason Segel’s ‘Dracula Musical’ from 2008’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall remains to this day one of the funniest subplots of any Comedy to come out of Hollywood in that era. In fact, the Dracula musical played a crucial part in Forgetting Sarah Marshall landing at #6 on the list of the 10 best comedies from the early 2000s.

Segel was seen on stage in Los Angeles last weekend performing ‘Dracula’s Lament‘, the song he sings in front of a bar after Mila Kunis forces him on stage in the movie, and he absolutely crushed it 15 years later.

Two videos have gone viral of people in the crowd filming Jason Segel belting out ‘Dracula’s Lament’. The first of the two clips is 2m14s and the second is 46s, and I highly suggest watching both because this might be the closest we ever get to seeing Jason Segel’s Dracula musical IRL:

The top comment on that video is “This movie is my Roman Empire. You are so lucky to have witnessed this.” If that ‘Roman Empire’ reference doesn’t ring a bell, it’s a meme that has been going around for months.

Someone else commented “can he just finish the show, find a producer and put it out? I’d pay an unreasonable amount of money to see his Dracula rock opera.” They’re not alone. I too would pay an embarrassing amount of money to see Jason Segel’s Dracula musical live on Broadway or wherever else.

And here is the second:

A top comment on that video is “this is my Eras Tour.” Same. Jason Segel’s Dracula Musical would be my Eras Tour for sure.

Jason’s cast read through of the scene where he performs ‘Dracula’s Lament’ in the bar with Mila Kunis is one of the greatest behind-the-scenes clips of all time.

It is important that you watch that if you have not seen it before, you will thank me because it’s that good. Trust me on this.
