Thea de Sousa, a woman who claims that she worked with Jennifer Lopez in the early 2000s when she was dating disgraced rapper and producer Sean Combs, has weighed in on what she believes J. Lo knew about Diddy’s alleged crimes.
In a set of posts on Thread, de Sousa — who says she is a “Hollywood development girl” who worked with Lopez during the first few years of the 2000s — claims that Jennifer Lopez did not have “any idea” about Diddy and his alleged crime.
Diddy, 55 years old, was arrested in September on federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution, with authorities alleging Diddy conducted “decades” of criminal activity.
“If you knew Jennifer Lopez, if you ever worked with her like I did, or if you were close with people who are like family to her like I am, you would know she did not have any idea about Diddy,” de Sousa wrote on her Threads account in a since-deleted post, according to The Daily Beast.
“[She] does not deserve to be conflated with [Diddy’s] shocking and criminal misdeeds,” de Sousa added, saying that the pop star and actress “barely drinks, she is not a partier, she isn’t a good time girl — she is a workaholic who uplifts women and who was charmed by him for a brief time in her life.”
de Sousa received some backlash suggesting that she doesn’t know Lopez as well as she believes she does, to which she responded by saying: “Or maybe, just maybe, you’re not even privy to that part of her life. ‘Working for her’ could mean a lot of different things… Personally I was not privy to anything but people I am still close with are.”
Since Diddy’s arrest, Lopez has yet to publicly address Combs’ arrest despite being questioned about it by paparazzi.
Combs is currently being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn as he awaits his trial, which is scheduled to begin in May.
