Jennifer Lopez Has Made A Movie That Looks Like It Could Be Contender For The Worst Of All Time

The trailer for Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming movie (?) This Is Me… Now is stone-cold proof that the pop star has far too many Yes Men/Women in her life.

The plot of the film is largely indiscernible, as it includes both an intervention of Lopez’s sex addiction in the present day and scenes of her in a futuristic sci-fi universe with no explicit connection between the two. All the while, dance numbers featuring her music are worked in.

All things considered, and no offense to Lopez — and particularly, her husband Academy Award-winning husband Ben Affleck, who I can only imagine suffered through endless conversations about this movie that probably made him want to swan dive into a pool of scalding hot Dunkin’ Donuts coffee — but This Is Me… Now looks like it could be in the running for one of the worst movies ever made.

“Whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always… in love,” Lopez says at one point in the trailer.

Prime Video, who apparently financed this fever dream, can explain what exactly it is better than I can.

This Is Me…Now: A Love Story is like nothing you’ve ever seen from Jennifer Lopez. Alongside director Dave Meyers, Jennifer has created a narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythological storytelling and personal healing.

Dropping in tandem with her first studio album in a decade, this genre-bending Amazon original showcases her journey to love through her own eyes. With fantastical costumes, breathtaking choreography, and star-studded cameos, this panorama is an introspective retrospective of Jennifer’s resilient heart.

One viral tweet, which racked up over 340,000 views (at the time of this writing), compared the project to the 2013 film Cloud Atlas.

Forgetting about the plot for a second, the cast is also insane, as it also features Fat Joe (as her therapist?), Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, Jay Shetty, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Sadhguru, Derek Hough, and, of course, Ben Affleck.
