Maybe Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump actually deserve each other.

Despite the fact that the Academy Awards were ten days ago (from the time of this writing), the late-night host and indicted former President continue to fire shots at each other.

On the Monday, March 18 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 56-year-old comedian responded to comments that Trump made about him during a recent Fox News interview.

“And what else did I say? I said some other pretty good things there — George Slopadopoulos,” Trump says in the clip as the interviewer reads his Truth Social post about Kimmel.”

“Look, Jimmy Kimmel, every night he hits me, I guess,” Trump continued. “His ratings are terrible, he’s not a talented guy. I hear he hits me all the time so I figured I’d hit him because I thought he was a lousy host.”

In response, Kimmel took a shot at Trump’s famously icy relationship with his children.

“I guess I shouldn’t be surprised,” Kimmel said during his opening monologue. “Donald Trump has said I’m not talented so many times Eric is starting to get jealous.”

Trump then continued to elaborate on the Oscars moment from his point of view.

“I put it out on Truth, which is one fire, by the way. Truth Social is doing great. I never expected he was going to be reading it just prior to the movie of the year, which is the big one, right? That’s the big one. They get the man, the woman, now the movie of the year,” Trump said.

“He reads my Truth on air. He reads exactly what you read. And now the big story is that they all begged him not to do it. He sees this thing, and he wants to go out there and confront me, and he ends up reading my Truth, I said, ‘This guy’s even dumber than I thought.'”

Kimmel then pointed out that the reason the moment went viral is because the majority of the Oscars crowd — including, as he makes sure to point out, Margot Robbie — was laughing at the former President, who is currently facing 91 criminal charges.
