Former Star Wars actor John Boyega, who co-stars with Jamie Foxx in the upcoming Netflix film They Cloned Tyrone, has spoken to the Academy Award-winning actor following his hospitalization back in April.
According to Boyega, Foxx — who suffered a mysterious medical emergency back in April that required hospitalization — is “doing well.”
“He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro. He’s doing well. And then, you know, we just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return,” Boyega recently told People Magazine.
“I gave him the well wishes directly. I gave him all the well wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”
In addition to Foxx and Boyega, They Cloned Tyrone — described as a “sci-fi comedy mystery” — starts Teyonah Parris, David Alan Grier, Kiefer Sutherland, and more. The film will be premiering on Netflix on Friday, July 21.

In addition to They Cloned Tyrone, Foxx also has a voice role in the comedy film Strays, which also stars Will Ferrell, Will Forte, Isla Fisher, Randall Park, Josh Gad, Harvey Guillén, Rob Riggle, Brett Gelman, Jamie Demetriou, and Sofía Vergara, and is set to release on August 18.
Foxx also has a bevy of films that are currently in various stages of production and post-production, such as The Burial, Tin Soldier, Back in Action, and Groove Tails.
