There’s an alternate universe out there where John Wick 4 is releasing in just two short months. Instead, we live in our far shittier universe and have to wait a full year for the film, which will reportedly begin production this June, according to Collider.
Sources tell me John Wick 4 will begin filming this June, and unlike the first three films which take place primarily in New York City, John Wick 4 will be an international affair.
Last year, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said John Wick 4 and John Wick 5 were going to shoot back-to-back. Obviously, this was before COVID changed the world and while that might have been the original plan, I’m hearing they are only shooting John Wick 4 this summer. [via Collider]

The news about John Wick 4 and John Wick 5 comes the same day that Disney (once again) reshuffled their 2021 blockbuster slate.
Just yesterday alone, the Mouse House announced that Black Widow will hit both theaters and Disney+ Premier Access on July 9, the Emma Stone-starring 101 Dalmatians prequel Cruella will hit theaters and Disney+ on May 28, while Pixar’s Luca will go directly to Disney+ on June 18.
Additionally, The King’s Man was bumped to December 22 (this is the SEVENTH time it’s been delayed), while the Ryan Reynolds-starring action-comedy Free Guy will release on August 13. The MCU also reshuffled the rest of its theatrical releases: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will release on September 3, Eternals on November 5, and Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17.
As for John Wick 4, production will start in June ahead of its scheduled May 22, 2022 release date. It’s finally happening — movies are coming back.
