Jordan Feldstein, the long-time manager of Maroon 5 and brother of actor Jonah Hill, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday. Feldstein was only 40-years-old. Maroon 5’s spokeswoman Carleen Donovan confirmed Feldstein’s death on Saturday.
The Feldstein family released a statement which said Jordan called 911 after experiencing a shortness of breath. Feldstein had gone into cardiac arrest by the time paramedics arrived and he died a shortly thereafter. Feldstein’s cause of death was not disclosed and the Los Angeles Coroner’s office are investigating Jordan’s death as a possible accident.
“His family asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time,” the statement said. “In lieu of food and flowers, the family will announce a charity in the coming weeks where memorial donations can be made in Jordan’s name.”
Feldstein was married twice, including being briefly married to Clint Eastwood’s daughter Francesca in November of 2013, but the marriage was annulled a week after the wedding. Feldstein is survived by Jonah Hill, his sister Beanie Feldstein, his parents, and two children from his first marriage.
Feldstein was the founder and chief executive of Career Artist Management (CAM), a prominent management firm in Beverly Hills, California. He had managed Maroon 5 since the band first started 15 years ago. His company also manages other music talent such as Robin Thicke, Miguel, The B-52s, Elle King, and Rick Springfield. Feldstein was mourned on social media by his celebrity friends in the music world. Those who were shocked and devastated by his death include Iggy Izzalea, Tonight Show bandleader and Roots member Questlove, Sheryl Crow, and rapper Big Boi.
