Jonathan Majors‘ ongoing domestic violence case in New York City has taken a major turn.

According to a report from Insider, Majors filed a cross-complaint against Grace Jabbari — his former girlfriend who is accusing him of assault — alleging that she was “drunk and hysterical” when she slapped, scratched, and grabbed at his face on the night of the alleged incident.

The reason this development for Majors is being considered a win is that two separate NYPD precincts investigating the matter found probable cause to arrest Jabbari.

Both precincts found probable cause to arrest Jabbari, and issued what is called an “incident card,” or “I-Card,” an electronic document that directs police to take Jabbari into custody, at least for questioning, according to Majors’ defense attorney Priya Chaudhry and a law enforcement source. At this time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe star — who most recently headlined February’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Creed III in March — is currently scheduled to begin trial on August 3.

Obviously, Disney and Marvel Studios will be closely watching the developments of the case, as the 33-year-old Majors, who plays “Kang the Conqueror” in the franchise, has been positioned as the next “big bad” on the series, which would lead to him appearing in multiple projects, the next of which being season two of the Disney+ series Loki this fall.

In addition to season two of Loki, Marvel also has an entire Avengers film built around Majors’ character, as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (which was originally dated to release in 2025) is currently scheduled to hit movie theaters in the United States on May 1, 2026.

MCU movies and shows aren’t the only upcoming projects that Majors is attached to, as he’s also been linked to playing Dennis Rodman in the film 48 Hours In Vegas and the Spike Lee film Da Understudy.
