Jonathan Majors is one of the biggest movie stars in the world right now.

Despite not making his acting debut until 2017, Majors is already one of the most recognizable faces in the industry thanks to his roles in Da 5 Bloods, The Harder They Fall, Loki, and his trio of recent release, Devotion, Creed III, an Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

As a result of his increasing stardom, the world is beginning to learn more about the 33-year-old (who is a genuinely electric personality — we interviewed him back in 2021), such as why he always seems to be carrying around some sort of mug.

During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Majors explained the reasoning behind the mug and actually tied it into a heartwarming memory about his mother.

“I’ve been doing this — I’m 33 years old — I’ve been doing this since I left my mother’s house when I was around 18,” Majors explained.

“She was so terrified of the circus that I had joined. She was very clear about safety. ‘No drinking, no drugs, no sex,’ every time I left the house This has happened my entire life. But the drinking was a thing and she’d always say, ‘Baby, watch your cup. Watch your glass,’ and I always kept that in mind, for safety, but also what that meant.”

“It means, you are a vessel. Nobody can fill you up, nobody can pour you out — you do that yourself. Holding onto this is a reminder that, even in this craziness happening, my self-esteem is my self-esteem. Nobody can make me, nobody can big me up, as it were, or tear me down.”

As mentioned above, Majors can not only be seen starring alongside Paul Rudd in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but he’ll also be facing off against Michael B. Jordan in Creed III, which hits theaters on March 3.
