Sports Illustrated appears to be targeting a whole new market with their 2019 Swimsuit Issue. We’ve already talked about how far 58-year-old mom of two Jodi Harrison-Bauer made it during casting cutdowns. And how 55-year-old mom Kathy Jacobs has made it all the way to the Final 17.
Now comes news that 43-year-old Katina Taylor, a former Dolphins reporter for WFOR-CBS4 in Miami – and Dolphins great Jason Taylor’s ex-wife – has also made it all the way to this year’s SI Swimsuit Final 17.
The last time we heard the name Katina Taylor she was suing the sh*t out her ex-husband Jason for $3.4 million she claimed he still owed her in alimony.
Thomas, who also happens to be the sister of former Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas, is pretty fired up about making it this far in this year’s SI Swimsuit model search, telling Sports Illustrated, “It’s exciting to represent women in their 40s in this year’s #SISwimSearch. We have lived and we have learned. We have wisdom to share and that is beautiful. Loving ourselves and who we are as human beings is where confidence and true beauty resides at all ages.
“There is no age limit on what defines sexy and beautiful. Being happy in our own skin, sharing love and compassion for others, and not needing the approval of anyone to validate who we are is beautiful.”
Taylor is no stranger to modeling. She was an Elite Look of the Year Finalist at age 17, and says about this new opportunity, “I am still in awe of how this opportunity fell in my path in my 40s. If I had not been on Instagram to see the open casting, if I had let fear get in the way of just trying, I would not have made it this far. I would still be saying, ‘I should have,’ but now I can say ‘I DID!'”
Good for her.

A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. Thank you @si_swimsuit @mj_day @yutsai88 @jonilaninyc @winnieharlow @katebock for giving me this exciting opportunity and platform to share my knowledge of health and wellness- mind, body and soul to others. Encouraging each other to be healthy and strong mentally and physically is a daily exercise we can all practice and use motivation. ❤️ Exercising gratitude helps us put into perspective what’s really important in our lives. It is important to feed our minds with positive thoughts and focus on the good. ❤️ Eating healthy and exercising because we love our bodies rather than hate it is a step towards feeling our best. Exercise for how it makes you FEEL more than how you might want to look. ❤️ Caring about others feeds our soul. We can’t experience true peace by being self-consumed and only worrying about our own needs. When we genuinely care about other people…goodness and peace shines bright from within. Let’s gooooo! 🙏🏼✨💪🏼
