Already one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Keanu Reeves certainly doesn’t need to join a comic book movie franchise anytime soon. Hell, given how unkillable John Wick is, you can argue that he’s already playing one of the most famous superheroes in cinema. Still, the prospect of seeing Reeves join the MCU or DCEU remains an enticing one for fans, who are desperate to see the beloved actor take on an iconic comic book role.

During a recent interview with Esquire, Reeves was asked about whether he’d like to join the world’s biggest movie franchise and his answer is certainly a promising one as he said joining the MCU would be an “honor.”

“Isn’t it bigger than a universe? It’s almost like a multiverse… It’s a Marvel-verse,” Reeves said.

“It would be an honor. There’s some really amazing directors, and visionaries, and they’re doing something no one’s ever really done. It’s special in that sense in terms of the scale, the ambition, the production. So it’d be cool to be a part of that.” [via Esquire]

The interest in Reeves joining the MCU is certainly reciprocated by Marvel Studios, as President Kevin Feige has said in the past that they “talk to him for almost every film they make.”

“We talk to him for almost every film we make,” Feige told ComicBook. “I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.”

Keanu can next be seen in The Matrix: Resurrections, which will hit theaters and HBO Max on December 22. Then, next Spring, he’ll return as Baba Yaga in John Wick: Chapter 4 – Harakure.
