A new trailer for Killers of the Flower Moon, the latest film from legendary director Martin Scorsese, has been released.

The film is based on a true story as it details the mysterious murders of the oil-wealthy Osage nation back in 1920s Oklahoma.

Check out the official trailer for the movie and find more details about the project, which is expected to be a major contender at next year’s Academy Awards, below.

Killers of the Flower Moon stars Leonardo DiCaprio (in his sixth collaboration with Martin Scorsese) Robert De Niro (his tenth time working with Marty), Jesse Plemons, recent Academy Award winner Brendan Fraser, Lily Gladstone, and John Lithgow, and will hit theaters in the United States on October 20 before releasing on AppleTV+ about a month or so later.

Here is the official synopsis for Killers of the Flower Moon, via AppleTV+ and Paramount Pictures:

Based on David Grann’s broadly lauded best-selling book, Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.

As mentioned above, this is DiCaprio’s sixth time starring in one of Scorsese’s films, having previously featured in Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Scorsese and De Niro, of course, have famously worked together for decades, collaborating on projects such as Taxi Driver, New York New York, Raging Bull, The King of Comedy, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, Casino, and The Irishman.

Killers of the Flower Moon will be hitting movie theaters in the United States on Friday, October 6 before hitting AppleTV+ later in the year. You can also check out the first teaser trailer for the film, which was released earlier this year, below.
