Kim Kardashian gave an emotional testimony in the Paris jewelry robbery trial on Tuesday. At one point during her description of the heist she admitted, “I absolutely thought I was going to die.”

Her testimony is finally taking place almost nine years after Kardashian was robbed of $10 million worth of jewelry in Paris. Kardashian recalled how the “grandpa robbers,” as they have been nicknamed, gagged and bound her with tape and zip ties at gunpoint after breaking into her hotel apartment dressed as police officers and wearing masks.

Kim Kardashian revealed that she was wearing nothing but a bathrobe when the men broke into the residence. After rummaging through the residence looking for jewelry, one of the men pulled her towards him, which opened her robe and exposed, as she put it, “everything on my body.”

“I’m certain that’s the moment he rapes me. I say a prayer to mentally prepare myself,” she said. Instead, she said her legs were tied together while a gun was pointed at her. “At that point I was sure that’s when they were going to shoot me,” Kardashian said, according to the BBC.

“That night you thought you would die?” the judge asked her, to which she replied, “I absolutely did think I was gonna die.”

Kim Kardashian’s friend Simone Harouche also testified on Tuesday. Harouche was asleep on the first floor of the duplex suite when the robbers arrived.

“We’ve been friends since we were little girls,” NBC News reports she told the court. “So, when I heard this sound, it was very different, and it woke me up, because it was a sound that I had never heard from Kim. It was terror.”

She said that when she heard that she locked herself in the bathroom and texted Kourtney Kardashian and the family’s bodyguard for help.

10 individuals, nine men and one woman – all in their 60s and 70s, have been charged with crimes ranging from armed robbery in an organized gang to kidnapping in connection with the robbery. It is estimated that almost $10 million worth of jewelry was stolen in the heist, including a $4 million diamond engagement ring.
