While Disney’s D23 celebration has been chock full of big announcements, arguably the biggest of them all is that Game of Thrones Emmy nominated actor Kit Harington is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an unknown capacity, according to Deadline.
At this time, the role Harington has been cast in has not been disclosed. However, due to his height, body type, and general appearance, fans are already speculating that the former Jon Snow actor has been cast to fill Hugh Jackman’s shoes as Wolverine.
Harington, 32-years-old, has spent the majority of the last decade portraying Jon Snow in the record-breaking HBO series Game of Thrones.
Following the conclusion of Game of Thrones back in May, Harington became one of the top prospects in Hollywood, as he was essentially an all-star without a team, so it should come as no surprise that he’s been snatched up by Marvel and Disney for a potentially massive role.
During their D23 spectacle, Disney also announced three more Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series: Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She Hulk. At the time of this writing, no casting announcements for any of these three series have been made.
Following the conclusion of The Infinity Saga with Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to begin a new era when Phase 4 kicks off in May with the release of Black Widow.
