When you really think about it, social media is the closest thing the modern world has to Jurassic Park. Mark Zuckerberg is basically the real-world equivalent of John Hammond, both of whom were responsible for unleashing a force beyond their comprehension into the world and neither of whom listened to Jeff Goldblum’s advice when it came to taking a second to think about if they should.

While no one who uses social media has been devoured by a pack velociraptors (at least to my knowledge), it can still be as toxic as whatever a Dilophosaurus sprays out of its mouth. People have a tendency to only post things online when they’re living their best life instead of broadcasting their imperfections to the world, which often results in making other people feel bad about themselves.

It’s easy to be resentful of people with an Instagram feed filled with photos of exotic locations but it’s just as easy to make people jealous with some photos of your own for a fraction of the price of an actual vacation— as long as you don’t mind lying. According to USA Today, you can transport yourself anywhere in the world without having to leave your place thanks to Krome Photos, a service that will Photoshop you onto a background of your choice for the price of a nice six-pack.

Here’s how it works:

Customers select a photo, choose a background from Krome’s LookBook, make any special requests (“make me looked tanned please”), and place the order either from their smartphones through the app or directly on Krome’s website.

Krome can merge multiple images, swap heads, correct color, change backgrounds, and remove or add items.

The service will hook you up with a graphic designer who will send you the edited picture a few hours after you put in the request, which is more than enough time to head to a tanning salon so you have some “proof” you actually went sailing in Tahiti.
