Never did I think I’d be so invested in the love life of an 85-year-old man, but this is juicier than a Georgia peach.
On Wednesday, we brought you the news of Larry King filing for divorce with his seventh wife, Shawn Southwick, after 22 years of matrimony. King cited “irreconcilable differences,” which is code for “she’s a gold digger who banged our son’s baseball coach while I was making moves on her younger sister.” See, juicy.
Sources told The Blast that during King’s health scare a couple months ago, he came to a realization that Shawn “doesn’t care” about him and was only concerned about getting her hands on his estimated $150 million fortune.
The relationship had gotten so bitter that Southwick, a 59-year-old former singer and TV host, found out about the split through reporters and was reportedly “totally surprised,” despite sources close to the couple saying that the divorce was a long time comin’.
TMZ reports that Shawn doesn’t plan on fighting Larry’s divorce intentions “because she’s been told by doctors he’s dying.” Sources who have allegedly been in contact with Shawn say that Larry has been “in and out of the hospital over the last 6 months, and she says doctors have told her Larry doesn’t have much longer to live.”
This saga gets a bit more insidious after it’s been reported that the couple’s two sons Chance, 20, and Cannon, 19, have been pushing their father to divorce their mom after she personally asked him to change his will and trust while he was in the hospital.

While sources close to Larry say that her “endgame was to get more for herself and screw the kids out of their inheritance,” insiders on her side said that her request was at the behest of their estate planning lawyer. [via AOL]
Page Six reports that King’s family and friends are “ecstatic” he finally decided to break it off with his wife of two decades.
“Everyone is ecstatic — absolutely over the moon. We just hope he’s alive by the time [the divorce] is final.”
“It’s a huge weight off his shoulders,” the source added. “They detest each other.”
It’s absolutely mind-blowing that either of them have stayed with each other after the shit that’s gone down in their marriage.
SHAWN BEING BAD: As previously mentioned, she reportedly slapped skins with her son’s baseball coach, and the dude revealed to CBS that they had sex in Larry’s bed often and he felt like it was “his home.” He also claimed that Southwick often spoke to him of her desire to divorce King and even said, “‘Don’t worry, he’s gonna die soon.’”
LARRY BEING BAD: King was allegedly slapping skins with SOUTHWICK’S LITTLE SISTER, Shannon Engemann. Shawn had accused King of cheating with her sister after allegedly finding a charge for a Cartier diamond necklace on his credit card statement. Engemann then revealed that she had sex with Larry and he bought her a $160,000 Benz.
A bitter divorce proceeding is just what an 85-year-old man needs months after doctors opened up his chest and inserted several stents into a collapsed artery. Pray for Larry.
