If you’ve been on social media this week, then you’ve likely seen posts about how Academy Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio is apparently dating 19-year-old model Eden Polani.

According to reports from TMZ, however, that is not the case as the pair are not dating and just so happened to be sitting next to each other at an event.

A source close to Leo tells us despite a photo showing Eden and Leo sitting next to each other, they’re not dating and not a couple whatsoever. Our source says Leo and Eden just so happen to have been seated next to each other at the party, and were hanging in the same group. [via TMZ]

Despite the fact that there was no legitimate evidence of the pair dating, people on Twitter used the moment as an opportunity to take shots at Leo anyway, who was most recently in a four-year relationship with actress Camila Marrone.

After the internet began to run with rumors that DiCaprio was dating Polani, it appears she has since deactivated her Instagram page as you now get an error message when you click on her profile (at the time of this writing).

One can only imagine what it must have been like to be an A-list actor before the days of social media. These people would have a heart attack if they ever heard what Jack Nicholson was up to in his heyday.

Later this year, DiCaprio will be reteaming with Martin Scorsese as he stars in his epic Western crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon. In addition to DiCaprio, Killers of the Flower Moon also stars Oscar-winning Scorsese muse Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, and Brendan Fraser (who very well may be a Best Actor recipient by then, too).
