With exactly seven days away from the 2020 presidential election, people have either been turned off by the flood of political discourse or have been energized and feel the need to become an impassioned political pundit. One of the more surprising political commentators is mumble rapper Lil Pump, who boisterously proclaimed that he is supporting President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

Lil Pump, born Gazzy Garcia, delivered a fiery harangue on social media, where the Gucci Gang rapper expounded upon his reasoning for endorsing President Trump.

Lil Pump emphatically endorsed Trump in an expletive-laden announcement.

Lil Pump also shared a photoshopped image on Instagram of him shaking hands with President Trump with the caption: “THE DAY I MET TRUMP #trump202022020.”

Trump campaign senior adviser Katrina Pierson celebrated Lil Pump’s endorsement by sharing a video of her avatar dancing to Gucci Gang. Conservative firebrand Tomi Lahren tweeted: “We welcome @lilpump to the Trump Train!”

It should be noted that in 2016, Lil Pump had a much different view of Donald Trump.

The social media backlash caused Lil Pump’s label, Tha Lights Global, to issue a statement.

“Tha Lights Global supports everyone’s right to choose a Presidential candidate, however we want to make clear we do not support Donald Trump,” Tha Lights Global CEO Dooney Battle said in a statement to the outlet. “We support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President because we believe they offer an alternative to an administration that has ignored systemic racial injustice, promoted hate speech and inhumane immigration policies, ignored the problem of climate change and rights of LGBTQ+ individuals as well as many other actions contrary to democratic ideals. We believe it is our obligation to speak out regarding this historic election and we believe in a free society where all of our artists can express their opinions.”

Lil Pump isn’t the only rapper to show support for President Trump. Last week, 50 Cent said he would vote for Trump because of Biden’s tax increases on people making over $400,000.

“Yeah, i don’t want to be 20cent. 62% is a very, very, bad idea. i don’t like it!”

According to The Tax Foundation, a self-described “independent tax policy research organization,” Americans earning over $400,000 could face combined state and local income tax rates of more than 60%.

“In California, top earners could face a state and federal tax rate of as much as 62.6% under the Biden plan, according to calculations from Jared Walczak of the Tax Foundation,” CNBC reported. “In New Jersey, the combined rates could be just more than 60%, while in New York state they could reach 58.2%. In New York City, home to most of the state’s high earners, the combined city, state and federal income tax rate would be just over 62%.”

Chelsea Handler lambasted her ex for saying he would vote for Trump. “I had to remind him that he was a black person,” Handler said of 50 Cent. After being scolded by his ex-girlfriend, 50 Cent seems to have had a change of heart.
