Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams, currently serving a six-game suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy, faced another setback as he suffered a leg injury during Monday’s practice, forcing him to miss valuable time at the team’s training camp.

Head coach Dan Campbell reassured fans that the injury isn’t severe but will keep Williams off the field for a few days while he recovers.

Campbell stated, “I don’t think it’s significant, but it’s enough where he’s not going to practice.”

Despite his suspension, Williams remains eligible to participate in practice sessions, yet the recent leg injury will delay his return to the field during training camp.

Last season, the talented wide receiver faced adversity when he had to sit out the first 11 games due to a torn ACL. Despite the limited playing time, Williams demonstrated his potential with an impressive 41-yard touchdown during his lone catch of the year.

While his performance justified the Lions’ decision to select him in the first round last year, Williams’ availability remains a major concern, as he is set to miss 17 of his first 23 NFL games by the time his suspension concludes.

As the team progresses through training camp, the Lions will closely monitor Williams’ recovery, hopeful that he can regain full fitness and contribute significantly once he becomes eligible to play this season.
