Woman Orders Little John From Jimmy John’s. Uh, Why Does It Look Like That?

A woman ordered a Little John from sandwich chain Jimmy John’s. While she was expecting a slightly smaller sub, she was shocked when she unwrapped her order and questioned what went wrong.

In a video with over 4.1 million views, TikToker Emily (@emilyswiftie1699) holds a skinny sub. The bread overwhelms the small amount of ingredients inside.

“Hey, Jimmy John’s. What is this?” she asks, holding up the sandwich for size. “Yes, It’s a Little John, but what is this?”

The caption reads, “Little John’s be my last straw.”

How Small Are Little Johns Supposed To Be?

According to Jimmy John’s website, the Little John is just 300 calories and is recommended as a kids’ meal or as a snack. The sandwich chain offers six different combinations of ingredients on the Little Johns. Each Little John is around $3.

While the TikToker remarks that the sandwich seems too small compared to what she thought she was getting, the mini subs are supposed to be skinny.

Still, some customers get the standard and Little John sizes mixed up. In a post on the r/shrinkflation subreddit, one Jimmy John’s customer placed a regular sub and a Little John next to each other. They caption the post, “Jimmy John’s sandwich from the same order.”

In the comments, other Jimmy John’s customers pointed out that the Little John isn’t just shorter. It’s intentionally skinnier, with smaller ingredient portions, too.

“Yeah that’s just the actual different sizes of sandwiches, there is a standard and a mini at JJ’s,” one said.

One Jimmy John’s worker remarked, “I worked at a Jimmy John’s for about a year and one of the most annoying things would be when people ordered the little John sandwiches and complained because they were small.”

Do Viewers Agree With The TikToker?

Commenters on the now viral TikTok are split on whether the Little John is reasonably sized.

“Idk what u expected when u ordered a little john but ok,” a viewer wrote.

Another joked, “Looks like a Olive Gardens bread stick with a sliver of meat slice a cheese and bite of lettuce.”

“As someone who has never ordered a little john I too would be bamboozled,” a third offered.

Other viewers joked about the appearance of the mini sub.

“A Breadstick Hoagie? Damn , the economy really is hurting smh,” one said.

“They gave you your straw but forgot the drink!!” a second exclaimed.

“Thats actually Jimmy John’s alter ego Slimmy John. Hope this helps,” another joked.

“Maybe he’s nervous,” a fourth viewer quipped.
