Florida Woman Goes To Longhorn Steakhouse. Then She Catches Backlash For Bringing Her Children: ‘Etiquette Is Not Taught These Days’

A Florida woman took her three children to Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner. While she posted a lighthearted video showing her kids enthusiastically eating the meal, the comments quickly broke into debate about restaurant etiquette.

In a video with over 52,000 views, TikToker Keshia (@iloveeekeshiaa) sits at Longhorn Steakhouse with her children.

“We’re eating steak!” one child exclaims. Another child picks up the full steak with their fork and starts eating it. The third child grabs a piece of lobster with their hands and eats it enthusiastically.

The first child then grabs their steak with their hands and takes a big bite. The TikToker laughs and says, “It’s not a chicken. What the h—.”

The caption reads, “I could eat Longhorn every day if I could.”

Etiquette Debate

The TikToker quickly received an unexpected response in the comments, with many viewers criticizing her for not correcting her children’s etiquette at the restaurant.

“Etiquette is definitely not taught these days,” one wrote. The TikToker responded, “Are you doing classes?”

“Why aren’t we teaching our kids to use silverware correctly?” another questioned.

I see manners never enter the conversation,” a third added.

Other commenters made seemingly racist comments about the TikToker and her children. However, many commenters also pushed back at the critical comments, suggesting that there’s nothing wrong with the kids enjoying their meal at Longhorn Steakhouse.

“Now all of a sudden everybody kids has A1 etiquette and uses their butter and bread knives ?” one viewer asked.

“Idc I think it’s cute when kids get to try good food. they are always so polite and try hard to seem so grownup I love it,” a second pushed back.

One commenter even suggested that the TikToker turn the comments off to block more disrespectful responses.

They wote, “sistaaa turn the comments off they gets real disrespectful behind longhorn for some reason.” The TikToker clarified that she’s not bothered by the debate. She replied, “Lmfaoooo man , this is HILARIOUS  … I promise it don’t bother me at all lol.”

She posted several follow-up videos responding to comments suggesting she used “tax” money, including clips of her kids enjoying the meal.

Do Servers Actually Care About Kids’ Etiquette?

While commenters suggest that servers dislike serving tables with children who aren’t using restaurant etiquette, members of the r/ServerLife subreddit suggested otherwise.

Many said they expect a little extra clean-up with children but don’t mind. Instead, they dislike when children are overly loud or disruptive.

“As a server, I expect to have to do some extra cleaning and a sweep at a table with a kid, that’s no big deal. It’s when the kid gets loud and disruptive that really bothers me,” one suggested.

“Honestly its just part of the job. when we see kids we expect that there will always be some mess to pick up afterwords,” a second shared. “That being said, we really do appreciate it when parents clean up after their children.”
