YouTuber and guns/demolition expert Edwin Sarkissian revealed what happens when an M67 grenade is thrown into a swimming pool.

I can’t say that I’ve personally spent a lot of time pondering what might happen when an M67 grenade is tossed into a pool. In fact, ever since the old MythBusters episode where they showed how effective water is at stopping bullets, something movies often get wrong, I’ve sort of had it in my head that water can stop most lethal things including explosions.

Of course, if it’s a big enough explosion then water’s no match. But how about the explosion from an M67 grenade?

Edwin Sarkissian tosses a grenade into this pool after saying this is a question he gets asked about quite frequently. Here is the result:

Seeing this video made me wonder, can an ordinary citizen just go out and buy a grenade? So I looked it up and according to an article on AeroCorner, the short answer is ‘yes’, an ordinary citizen can buy a grenade. They just need some permits.

The 4 criteria they list for being able to buy an M67 grenade, or other types of grenades, are:

1. The seller must possess a Federal Firearms License (FFL) or Federal Explosives License (FEL)
2. The grenade must be registered with the ATF as an NFA firearm
3. Buyers without an FFL or FEL need to obtain approval from local law enforcement
4. The buyer must pay the NFA transfer tax

After sharing that YouTube Shorts of the M67 in a pool, he shared this ‘Happy 4th of July’ video where it’s a BAD DAY to be a propane tank:

I think I say this every time I write an article about Edwin Sarkissian’s videos, but he has one of the most interesting day jobs of anyone on YouTube.
