Martin Scorsese Blames His Daughter For Tricking Him Into Becoming A TikTok Sensation

There’s nothing stopping older members of the population from using TikTok, but The Youths have firmly conquered that realm. As a result, it’s pretty hard not to be entertained by Martin Scorsese’s ability to take the platform by storm, although he asserts his daughter deserves the bulk of the credit for that unlikely development.

You don’t need to be a movie buff to know Martin Scorsese is one of the greatest living directors on the planet, as he took Hollywood by storm in the 1970s with the help of Taxi Driver and has been pumping out Certified Bangers on a regular basis ever since.

The 80-year-old has riled up some members of younger generations with his views on superhero movies, but at this point, it’s hard not to respect the opinion of a man who proved he’s definitely still got it with the release of Killers of the Flower Moon.

Scorsese has three daughters, including Francesca, a 24-year-old who’s routinely recruited him for TikTok videos.

In October, the duo went viral when she had him guess the meaning of slang words and terms he seemingly has no business deploying in his daily life, and he delighted plenty of viewers by largely managing to hold his own.

Earlier this week, the world learned Marty is a Birdman superfan when he used his forehead to complete a movie bracket challenge where Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (unsurprisingly) reigned supreme.

However, based on what he had to say during a recent conversation with The Los Angeles Times, we can thank Francesca for treating us to a clip he apparently didn’t know was going to end up online before it quickly racked up millions of views:

“I was tricked into that. That was a trick. I didn’t know those things go viral. They say ‘viral.’ I didn’t know…

“That I didn’t know was going to go up. I was just doing it in the other room with her. I don’t know what they’re going to do. They always have those iPhone cameras in their hands. You’re not aware.

I honestly did not know she was going to post it. They use the words ‘post it,’ right?”

Scorsese made it clear he’s as entertained by the response to the TikTok as most people are by the video itself, so here’s to hoping he’ll continue to agree to these collabs.
