We’re all guilty of overindulging in McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets. But for two cousins, it was an act of war.
TikTokers Teigen and Avery, who run the Cousin Hunger Games TikTok account, have gone viral after battling it out to see who could eat the most McNuggets in one sitting. An Instagram influencer previously went viral for eating 100.
The cousins’ video, which has garnered 669,400 views, was over seven minutes long.
First of all, Teigen set the ground rules: there was no time limit. If you leave the building or have to go to the bathroom, you’re out. If you “s—” or throw up, you’re out.
Her cousin, Avery, said she is employing an “eat ’til death” strategy, while Teigen’s strategy involved bringing low-calorie sauces from home.
Teigen then asked a staff member how much he thought they’d manage — but by saying only 20, he severely underestimated the pair.
The video then showed multiple boxes of 20 McNuggets strewn over a McDonald’s table, Teigen eating the first 40 nuggets within 5 minutes. Meanwhile, Avery ate 38.
While Avery admitted to having a tiny pain, Teigen said she was unaffected. They then ordered another 20 each. As they walked back with their fresh McNuggets boxes, Avery admitted that she had the “meat sweats” and added, “Consider us frontline soldiers against the Ozempidemic.”
As the 15-minute mark hit, Avery was visibly struggling with trying to neck the nuggets. Meanwhile, Teigen denied claims that they don’t actually eat in these videos, saying that they put their body “on the goddamn line” for these challenges.
The video then cut to a speed run segment of them eating. When we caught up with them next, Teigen was 56 deep, while Avery was at 50. At this point, both said they were getting full.
As Teigen finished 60, Avery started to slow down. Still, they got another 20 each, and Avery noted that they were $40 down.
“Each entire soul is looking down at me and saying, ‘What the literal f— is wrong with you?'” she added. From there, things devolved into chaos. Teigen joked that a child on an ad on the table was judging her. She later threw her ketchup bottle at Avery, collapsing her dip pyramid. This made Avery collapse in turn into laughter.
“Do you think when our moms had us, this is what… just eating copious amounts of food online?” Teigen added. Avery, still laughing, started using dip pots as fake eyes.
Teigen then commented on the nuggets themselves. “This is a good batch, which is a shame because when we’re like 70 in, they’re starting to taste like chicken-flavored yoga mats at this point. They’re not good.”
When they reached a tied 75 each, the cousins decided to “lock the f— in.”
Avery said she had a headache.
She also said to Teigen: “I love you, but I hate how competitive you are
“I hate how competitive I am too,” the cousin added.
Later, they reached another milestone: they were both at 80.
But Teigen ended up victorious. She went back up to get four more nuggets and managed one more. This left the official score as 81 to 80.
“What do you have to say for yourself?” Teigen asked, to which Avery responded, “I hate myself.”
The video ends with Avery getting a final beverage, her telling Teigen she’s limping, and Teigen twerking.

What Did Commenters Say?
Many commenters were in awe. “My favorite part is when you both get food drunk each time,” one wrote. “Love it.”
“Imagining a pile of 80 nuggets just in your stomach is insane,” a second said.
“This is an amazing challenge,” a third added. “I give hats off to you guys. I probably couldn’t make it to 40. Y’all are badass.”
While a fourth chimed in: “RIP to the cook who had to make 164 nuggs!”
What Are Chicken McNuggets Made Of?
There’s a lot of speculation over how McNuggets are made and what they’re made of.
According to Everyday Health, there’s a lot more in McNuggets alongside chicken and its crispy batter.
Along with its white boneless chicken, McDonald’s McNuggets include vegetable oil, enriched flour, bleached wheat flour, yellow corn flour, vegetable starch, salt, leavening agents, spices, yeast extracts, lemon juice solids, dextrose, and natural flavors.
Natural flavors, in turn, can be derived from spices, fruit and vegetable juices, yeast, plant materials (such as herbs or leaves), meat, seafood, poultry, dairy, egg, or fermentation products.
However, the most significant thing is the amount of salt and saturated fat in McNuggets.
Per the numbers listed on the U.K. McDonald’s website, 81 McNuggets contain 7.695 grams of salt and 20.25 grams of saturated fat. Eighty McNuggets, in turn contain 7.6 grams of salt and 2o grams of saturated fat. Both of these levels are way over the recommended daily intake. So, while the Cousin Hunger Games might be entertaining, it’s probably not one to try at home.
