A woman overheard a McDonald's worker's judgement for coming through the McDonald's drive-thru every morning for a coffee.

Getting a coffee before heading into work is a morning ritual for many. A nice cup of joe not only offers a nice caffeine boost, but it can also alter the trajectory of the day. One woman made McDonald’s her go-to coffee place. But she might have to frequent another location after overhearing what the worker said about her.

In a TikTok with over 213,200 views, Shiloh (@shi_squirrel) shares what she overheard the McDonald’s worker say about her before driving off.

“I just went to McDonald’s because I come here every morning to get an iced mocha before work because their mochas are actually bomb. Like, they’re so good,” Shiloh begins.

Being hooked on the mocha, Shiloh says she has become a regular at McDonald’s. However, this one interaction may make her try the next nearest McDonald’s.

“The same girl gave it to me because she mornings, and I see her a lot. She hadn’t closed the window yet and was like, ‘She comes here every day,’” Shiloh shares.

Embarrassed by this recognition, Shiloh says she is “Googling the next closet McDonald’s.”

The Customer Tried A New McDonald’s—It Didn’t Go Well

In a conversation with BroBible, Shiloh revealed that she went to a different McDonald’s, but it just doesn’t hit the same.

“I was going to a different McDonald’s afterwards, but they didn’t make the mochas as delicious,” Shiloh says.

Shiloh has decided it’s worth the judgement, as the mocha is next level at her favorite location.

She has no shame in being a McDonald’s regular.

“I am definitely a McDonald’s regular and that’s okay. I don’t care about being recognized, just don’t be rude! Take my money and leave me alone,” she concluded.

‘I Love My Regulars’

Viewers in the comments section shared their own stories of being regulars.

“I got called their personal groundhog at my coffee place when I switched to my hot drink for fall/ winter,” one TikTok commenter wrote.

“I stopped going every day because one time I didn’t order my daily McGriddle on the app like usual and they called me out on it and I looked at my fat face in the rear view mirror and decided it’s time to change,” another added.

“God forbid a girl have a consistent schedule,” a third chimed in.

Meanwhile, service workers shared that they will worry if a regular stops coming in and often assume the worst.

“I love my regulars, and when you don’t come by I wonder about you,” one revealed.

“I used to stop at 7-Eleven every morning until I had to change my work schedule and I bumped into the worker a couple months later and he literally said ‘I thought you died or something,’” another commented.

“Got my Starbucks order every day and my job office moved and I went back. She freaked out and told me the whole crew thought I died,” one shared.

Why Do People Become Regulars?

According to SevenRooms, the three main reasons that people become regulars somewhere are for community, routine, and personal experience.

More than ever, people are craving community, and a restaurant, bar, or cafe can offer that. Technology has created flexibility with working remotely but has contributed greatly to the loneliness epidemic. The lack of human interactions and advancements in tech has made more than half of U.S. adults feel lonely.

In addition to getting extra human interaction, routine plays a role in why someone becomes a regular. Doing the same day each day can provide comfort and one less decision. Having your go-to coffee spot provides stability and familiarity with the staff.

Once you get to know the staff, the personal experience comes into play. Establishing a relationship with the barista can do wonders for your morning. There is also something special about the staff knowing what your order is and immediately knocking it out for you.

While much of communication has gone digital, these little face-to-face interactions can really go a long way to make a person’s day.
