Lionel isn’t the only member of the Messi family to take the United States by storm this summer, as his longtime wife Antonela has also been catching the attention of American soccer fans.

Over the weekend — following Inter Miami’s thrilling victory over Nashville SC in the Leagues Cup final (they won 10-9 on penalties, with the final kick coming down to goalkeeper vs. goalkeeper) — Antonela went viral for the way in which she was looking at her husband after his latest triumph.

Messi’s Leagues Cup win with Inter Miami is the 44th trophy he’s won in professional football, which officially makes him the most decorated player in the history of the sport.

The 36-year-old footballing legend, of course, opened the scoring in the match with an incredible curler from outside the box in the 23rd minute. Nashville SC would go on to equalize via Fafa Picault in the 57th minute, which led to the match eventually ending regulation with a tied score of 1-1.

Messi’s move to Inter Miami and Major League Soccer has been nothing short of a smashing success so far, as the former Barcelona and PSG star has already taken what was previously one of the league’s worst teams to a title.

Since Messi arrived, Inter Miami has been playing in the Leagues Cup, as the MLS has been on its pseudo-summer break in recent weeks, having only officially resumed on Sunday. Therefore, none of these wins that Miami have been racking up following Messi’s arrival count towards their actual record in MLS, which currently sits at 5-3-14 and puts them in last place in the Eastern Conference.

Inter Miami’s next match will be in the U.S. Open cup against FC Cincinnati on Wednesday. Then, on Saturday, August 26, Messi will likely make his official MLS league-play debut against the New York Red Bulls.
