Actor Peter Facinelli reprises Mike Dexter from Can't Hardly Wait for Halloween 2026
Halloween 2026 marked the last time Halloween will land on a Saturday until 2037, a full 11 years from now. That led to a flurry of Halloween parties across our great nation with everyone putting their best foot forward in costume contests.
Early reports indicated this Matt Damon Team America vs The Odyssey won the ‘Best Costume’ award this year but actor Peter Facinelli who played Mike Dexter in Can’t Hardly Wait said ‘not so fast.’ He went as Mike Dexter and got fellow Can’t Hardly Wait cast member to join him representing the Class of ’98!
Actor Peter Facinelli Won Halloween Dressed As Mike Dexter From ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’
Here’s the thing, I am an unabashed diehard fan of Can’t Hardly Wait. To the point that I own a digital copy of the movie so I can fire it up anytime there’s nothing to watch on TV and I need background noise. It perfectly captured the zeitgeist of the late 90’s ‘coming of age’ films alongside American Pie and others. Every scene has a quotable line in a way that Hollywood cannot replicate these days.
So when Peter Facinelli threw on the red shirt, combed his hair, and flipped the switch to Mike Dexter it immediately transported every elder millennial back to high school. He has picked up over 250K views in under 24 hours with this video:

In the caption, ‘Mike Dexter’ wrote “Can’t Hardly Wait for our High School Reunion! Class of 98’. Reunion movie for 2028?” First off, yes. The world needs this to happen. We need more supercuts like this:
Next, why not run back the core cast members including Facinelli as Mike Dexter, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Amanda Beckett, Ethan Embry as Preston Meyers, Charlie Korsmo as William Lichter, and Seth Green as Kenny Fisher. Only instead of trying to revisit the past, they are all parents now, their angsty Gen Z kids are graduating college/high school/whatever, and they are forced to grapple with where time went over the past 30 years. Heck, some of them could even be grandparents by now if you do the math. I’m not in the business of giving away free ideas to Hollywood but a Can’t Hardly Wait sequel in 2028 would make a fortune.
And listen, I know that Peter Facinelli has other memorable roles. He was n 70+ episodes of Nurse Jackie. Peter was in Supergirl and the Twilight series. But nothing compares to his take on Mike Dexter.
