Mikey Day as Beavis and Butt-Head on Saturday Night Live

Late Night with Seth Meyers / SNL

Mikey Day of Saturday Night Live has come a long way from his ‘David Blaine Street Magic’ parodies and he featured prominently in SNL‘s most popular sketch in years, a ‘Beavis and Butt-Head’ sketch with Ryan Gosling that was so outlandish it caused cast member Heidi Gardner to completely break character.

‘Beavis and Butt-Head’ on SNL has racked up 14 million views just on YouTube over the past three weeks. It really was the cherry on top of what was probably the best Saturday Night Live episode of the past 20 years where the cast seemed to produce hit after hit after hit with every sketch:

After that, Heidi Gardner spoke about breaking character and thinking she hadn’t done her job. It sounded like she was panicking a bit until speaking with friends who were there who raved about how hilarious the sketch was. You can head on over here for Heidi’s side of the Beavis and Butt-Head sketch with Mikey Day.
