Following her appearance at the Academy Awards and the subsequent after-party earlier this year, former The Office writer and star Mindy Kaling went viral for her new look.

Now promoting her new swimwear line with Andie Swim, Kaling details how she shed some of her weight, revealing that she “runs or hikes 20 miles per week” and “lifts weights.”

“I know people are really interested in the changes in my body, and I think it’s flattering but sometimes it’s just a little much, so I try not to tune into it,” Kaling recently told People Magazine.

“The truth is that I spend so much time and energy trying to be healthy. I run or hike 20 miles a week and I lift weights. It’s a big commitment for me. I basically live in workout clothes so I can get it in.”

Kaling’s new look isn’t the only reason she’s made headlines this year as she was also the executive producer and star of the dismally reviewed Velma animated series that hit HBO Max that was released back in January.

In addition to serving as a writer, executive producer, director, and actress on The Office, Kaling is also known for creating the Fox comedy series The Mindy Project, which ran from 2012 to 2017.

Kaling has also been a prolific television producer in recent years, as she’s created the Netflix series Never Have I Ever and the HBO Max series The Sex Lives of College Girls, both of which are well-reviewed and remain on the air at the time of this writing.

The prolific 43-year-old also has some experience working in movies, as she’s appeared in films such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, No Strings Attached, The Five-Year Engagement, The Night Before, A Wrinkle In Time, Ocean’s 8, Despicable Me, Wreck-It Ralph, and more.
