Montana has one of the healthiest moose population in the lower 48 and spotting a moose in Red Lodge, Montana is not out of the ordinary. However, spotting a moose stuck in the middle of a skate park is nothing something seen very often.

That is exactly what happened earlier this week in Red Lodge, Montana though, when a moose who regularly greets people on the edge of town found its way to the bottom of the fish bowl ramp and was unable to get out before police rescued it.

As time passed, a large crowd began to form with locals and passersby spotting the moose. Was he there because he wanted to drop in on the ramp and relive his childhood like the rest of us that grew up shredding? It is hard to say, but the moose certainly made itself comfortable before getting rescued.

A team from Montana’s KTVQ News was sent out to investigate the bizarre scene. They spoke with residents who stopped to watch the moose as it was tranquilized and removed, unharmed, and relocated.

Red Lodge, Montana has a population of between 2,200 and 2,500 residents. It sits just to the East of the mountains and has a gorgeous view to the West. And as mentioned before, this particular moose is regularly spotted by residents as it stops to watch people coming and going on the edge of town.

Among the residents that the KTVQ News team spoke with was the young couple where the woman was wearing a pet snake as a necklace. I just wanted to make special mention of that in case you might’ve missed it. Go back and watch that clip again if you didn’t notice the huge snake around her neck.

Resident Steve Langlas said “we’veve seen a lot of animals in town, never a moose in the bottom of a skate park” while his wife Missy added “he didn’t panic. But obviously, he can’t get out.”

In the end, the massive 1,000+ pound bull moose was tranquilized and dragged out of the Red Lodge skate park unharmed and found to be in good health. All’s well that ends well, right?
