Tough Woj bomb on a Friday afternoon. We were so close to the weekend and he just had to bring us down with this. I love Doris Burke. Everyone loves Doris Burke. She’s a tremendous announcer and her voice is calming. If she weren’t calling NBA games, she’d crush it with a meditation app or reading audiobooks on Audible.
I’m sure she’ll be fine but it’s just interesting to see all the names now. Remember a week ago when it came out that Tom Hanks had it and we all freaked out because he was the first major celebrity to come out positive? That feels like years ago. Every day now, it’s five new famous people so we’re becoming numb to it. But that doesn’t change the fact that I wish it would have skipped over Doris’s door. Like the origin story for the Jewish holiday Passover.
Doris Burke is the only person to whom Coach Pop gives the time of day anymore. And anyone who has earned the Coach Pop co-sign is an all-star human being. Here’s hoping she gets well soon.
