When this is all said and done, some might eventually refer to this period as ‘The Great Se-pa-rate’ and by some I mean me. I’m the guy. I said it and I’m sticking with it for the purposes of this article but only if you make sure to say it with a cadence so that Great and Separate rhyme.

Anyway, fuck. Here we are. Inside. Staying away from others. Millions of people realizing that they never thought they could actually miss work until now. Slack is great for staying connected. Zoom is crucial for A LOT of remote workers.

Here at BroBible, we’ve all been working remotely for a few years so our workflow generally remains the same but when the workday is done it’s not like I’m leaving the house to hit the gym, grab drinks, or go out to dinner with friends. We’re staying home and my phone is blowing up every night on the group chat.

That’s where something like this new Chrome Extension ‘Netflix Party’ comes into play. It’s a way to watch Netflix with your friends by synchronizing whatever you’re watching across a group of people, up to thousands.

The Netflix Party extension is only available on Chrome browsers:

Netflix Party is a new way to watch Netflix with your friends online. Netflix Party synchronizes video playback and adds group chat to your favorite Netflix shows.

Join over 500,000 people and use Netflix Party to link up with friends and host long distance movie nights and TV watch parties today!

So you could, in theory, get the whole squad together to watch Season 2 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive which is so fucking good I cannot recommend it enough, and the squad can chat about it throughout via text.

It’s pretty simple to get up and rolling. They break it down into four steps on their website wher eyou can download the Chrome extension whenever you want:

1: Install Netflix Party – To install Netflix Party, start off by clicking the “Install Netflix Party” button on this page. Once you are redirected to the Chrome Web Store, click “Add to Chrome” to finish installing Netflix Party.

02: Open a Video in Netflix – Go to Netflix’s website. Choose any show you would like to watch and start playing the video.

03: Create your party – To create your party, click on the red “NP” icon located next to the address bar. Then click “Start Party” to get the party started, and share the party URL to invite friends.

04: Join a Netflix Party – To join a party click on the party URL, which will redirect to Netflix’s website. Then click on the “NP” button next to the address bar, and you should automatically join the party.

If you’re a Chrome user and want to download the extension you can click here to get Netflix Party now and you can send this article to your friends to show them the steps as well!

I was tossing out the idea of a ‘virtual happy hour’ with some friends for Friday but chances are we’ll all drop the ball on that. It’s certainly something to consider right now if anyone wants to see smiling faces.
