If you are into spooky stories, new Netflix horror series Archive 81 should be on your must-watch list.
Archive 81 is an original story loosely inspired by the popular podcast of the same name, according to the show’s synopsis.
“As a video archivist investigates the secrets behind a mysterious fire, he becomes convinced he can save a young woman from the terrifying fate she met 25 years ago,” it reads.
What the synopsis doesn’t say is that Archive 81 is, as one person on Twitter called it, “some bats–t crazy supernatural s–t.”
Reactions to the new supernatural thriller on social media back that claim up as numerous viewers have reported jumping at their own shadows, having nightmares, and being unable to sleep after watching Archive 81.
Of course, with James Wan – the co-creator of the Saw and Insidious franchises and the creator of The Conjuring Universe – as one of the series’ executive producers, what else would anyone expect?
One viewer says he has seen references to things like The Shining, Diabolique, Ministry of Fear, The Secret of Nimh, Jesus Christ Superstar, Solaris, Hearts in Atlantis, and The Twilight Zone in Archive 81.
The setting alone has been setting viewers off.
