New ‘Buddy Games: Spring Awakening’ Clip Goes Long With Dax Shepard’s Ashes

If you blanked on the Josh Duhamel’s first Buddy Games, you’re excused. It came out in fall 2020, a wildly chaotic time that filled with giantic lapses in everyone’s cultural memory.

The original Buddy Games was a raunchy over-the-top buddy comedy with an ensemble cast, including Dax Shepard, Olivia Munn, Nick Swadson, and Kevin Dillion, of Entourage fame.

It opens with a shameless nut shot, snowballing into a game of physical stunts and misadventure with $150,000 on the line.

All things considered, the kind of vulgar comedy I firmly believe we need more of in the world. to cool down the cultural temperature and chill everyone out for a minute. There’s a scene where the gang heads to the bar, chugs a bunch of laxatives, and sees who can hit on various women for the longest before their insides explode.

Just guys being dudes.

Sorry if you can’t laugh at that. But the rest of us think it’s hilarious. Iconic, even.

Buddy Games’ Spring Awakening is slated for a national digital release on June 2nd. Josh Duhamel stars and directs the sequel, which takes the original Buddy Games premise and applies it to the boozy shenanigans of spring. Dax Shepard – aka Durfy in the movie – had a scheduling conflict for filming, so the movie finds the crew mourning the death of their fallen bro.

And what better way for a group of Bros to mourn than a causal game of catch-the-urn at the funeral?

Here’s the Buddy Games’ Spring Awakening crew going long with Dax Shepard’s ashes in an exclusive clip from Paramount.

I don’t know about you, but I’m happy to see that Kevin Dillion has good hands. Reflexes like that only get better with age.
