Here is the official synopsis for Oppenheimer, via Universal Pictures, who are likely hoping the project will be a major awards season contender,

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer is an IMAX®-shot epic thriller that thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.

The film stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer and Emily Blunt as his wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Oscar-winner Matt Damon portrays General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey, Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.

Oppenheimer is the 11th featured film of Nolan’s acclaimed career, following Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, Dunkirk, and Tenet. Oppenheimer, however, is his first project at Universal Pictures.

Speaking at CinemaCon in April, Nolan hyped up the release of the film by saying it’s the most high-stakes story he could possibly imagine.

“I know of no more dramatic tale with higher stakes,” Nolan said.

“Like it or not, J. Robert Oppenheimer is the most important person who ever lived. He made the world that we live in for better or for worse. His story has to be seen to be believed.”

With about 10 weeks until the release of Oppenheimer, it’s likely that one more trailer is dropped before the movie hits theaters. You can also check out the first teaser for the movie below:
