20th Century Fox
We haven’t seen the Silver Surfer since 2007 when the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer debuted and it was not well-received. But when a huge company like 20th Century Fox owns the rights to a comic book character they have to maximize their investment. The metallic alien who space travels on a surfboard is coming back in a new movie. The Marvel Comics superhero will get another chance and a new movie with a promising writer.
The Silver Surfer, which first appeared in comic books way back in 1966, will be brought back in a new movie. The movie is currently a 20th Century Fox film, but it could end up being a Disney movie. Three months ago, Disney acquired most of 21st Century Fox for $52.4 billion. The upcoming Silver Surfer movie will be written by comic creator Brian K. Vaughan. You may know Vaughan from such titles as Daredevil, Y: The Man, and Runaways. The Silver Surfer is faster than the speed of light, can time travel, has superhuman strength, endurance, and senses. Let’s hope that Vaughan can make the Silver Surfer AKA Norrin Radd from the planet Zenn-La cool again.
