It’s hard to overstate the cultural impact that Tiger King on Netflix has had over the past few weeks. The Netflix docuseries chronicling the intertwining lives of Joe Exotic, Carole Baskin, and (Doc) Bhagavan Antle has already been watched by 34.3 MILLION Americans in the past few weeks.

I’m sitting here wondering if I should try my hardest to avoid any spoilers in this article but honestly the Tiger King docuseries is so damn wild that it would take 50,000 words to include everything that happened. It’s a show where every scene tries to upstage the one before it by introducing information so outrageous your brain is having trouble processing what’s happening. Truly, any moment you think things cannot possibly get more insane the show cranks it up even further.

A new special from FOX and TMZ titled Tiger King — What Really Went Down? is set to air on Monday, April 13, at 9 p.m. on Fox. The hour-long special was produced by TMZ’s Harvey Levin and it will feature new interviews with the people closest to Joe Exotic as well as never-before-seen footage.

According to THR, the focus of Tiger King — What Really Went Down? is to explore some of the questions raised in the Netflix docuseries like what really happened to Carole Baskin’s missing millionaire husband, and if Joe Exotic is really guilty:

The hourlong special, titled TMZ Investigates: Tiger King — What Really Went Down?, will feature TMZ head Harvey Levin, interviews with people connected to the case of Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, and “never-before-seen footage.” It is set to air Monday.

Fox and TMZ say the special will explore some questions left unanswered in Netflix’s breakout docuseries, including whether lead figure Joe Exotic is “really guilty” of the murder-for-hire plot of which he was convicted, a look at the disappearance of animal activist Carole Baskin’s former husband and the status of a newly reopened investigation into that disappearance.

I’m almost certain they’ll enlist former Joe Exotic producer Rick Kirkham for those interviews because he recently opened up about how things were ‘A Hell Of A Lot Worse Than What You Saw’ like the time he claims Joe shot his horse in the damn head after he asked him to look after it.

The former is pretty intriguing. There is a LOT of uncertainty and finger-pointing surrounding the disappearance of Carole Baskin’s ex-husband. The claims about a tiger eating a human if they’re covered in sardine oil is something I think we’d all love them to shed some light on as that’s been one of the most talked about aspects.

But as for whether or not Joe Exotic is guilty, is there any question of that? He was caught red-handed in a murder-for-hire scheme. What’s dubious about that? For more on this forthcoming series you can click here to read the article on the Post.
