With all due to respect to Rage Against The Machine lead single Zack de la Rocha, this surely isn’t what he had in mind when he wrote the band’s 1996 hit single “Bulls on Parade.”

On Wednesday, a large cow managed to get loose while being unloaded at at the University of Illinois’ college of veterinary medicine and proceeded to maraude its way through campus, both startling and entertaining students along the way.

Several videos of the incident quicky hit social media, with students dodging and yelling as the cow seemed to aimlessly jaunt through the crowded campus.

Cow Breaks Loose On University Of Illinois Campus

Ironically, the University of Illinois was founded in 1867 as the Illinois Industrial University, a land-grant school that was specifically focused on agricultural. Something tells us those students would have been far more equipped to deal with this sort of situation than the ones at the school today.

Thankfully for all involved, the cow caused neither property damage nor significant bodily harm before it was eventually corralled and taken in to the college of veterinary medicine.

“She sustained some superficial injuries during the incident, but it is not expected that she will require additional treatment. Our priority is always the humane treatment and wellbeing of animals in our care. No person was seriously injured during the event,” Patrick Wade, the school’s director of executive communications and issues management told local news station WCIA-TV.
