National treasure Nicolas Cage (pun most definitely intended) has put together a filmography that most actors can only dream of achieving.

Sure, in over 40 years of making movies there have been a few clunkers (he has become the king of video on demand, making 15 VOD films since 2014), but there also have been some incredible performances along the way.

He won an Academy Award for Leaving Las Vegas. He became an action hero in The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off and Gone in 60 Seconds. He has headed up more than one film franchise with the National Treasure and Ghost Rider films. And his two most recent movies, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Dream Scenario show he can still earn critical acclaim.

It’s that latter film, Dream Scenario, in which Variety reports Nicolas Cage said he had to perform “the most humiliating love scene in the history of cinema.”

While not getting into specifics, the fact that it is Cage saying it is the “most humiliating” and that he plays a man who is suddenly appearing in everyone’s dreams, certainly opens the door to numerous possible scenarios.

Nicolas Cage, who turns 60-years-old in January, also recently revealed that after over 100 films he may only do “three or four more movies.”

“I have a 15-month-old daughter waiting for me at home,” he said.

He said at the Red Sea Film Festival this week that he wants “to do television; maybe Broadway.”

Cage also listed his five favorite screenplays: Raising Arizona, Vampire’s Kiss, Leaving Las Vegas, Adaptation, and Dream Scenario. His favorite films are Pig and Dream Scenario.

As for whether he lets his kids watch any of the dozens of films he has appeared in over the years, he said “absolutely not. We watch the cartoon Invincible. It’s wild.”
