Anthony Edwards is the breakout superstar of the 2023-2024 NBA season. He’s established himself as a star through his first three seasons, but he’s taken the leap to superstardom in this year’s regular season and playoffs.

After Edwards had a sensation 43-point performance to help Minnesota steal game 1 on the road against the Denver Nuggets, he’s the talk of the entire NBA.

That extended to ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith. Stephen A. heaped praise on Anthony Edwards on Sunday.

Any time that you’re being compared to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant favorably, that’s pretty good.

If you’re not a big NBA fan, that can seem ridiculous. After all, how many players have been compared to Michael Jordan only to not come close at all? But, trust me, Anthony Edwards is one of a few players ever who combines Jordan”s insane athleticism with a ton of skill. Again, not saying that he will ever come close to being considered the GOAT, but the resemblance is uncanny.

Look at these highlights.

And, he’s only 22-years-old. So far in these playoffs, he’s averaging 33.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game for the Minnesota Timberwolves. His shooting efficiency has been great, and he’s a blossoming defender with impressive size, as well.

If, and this is a big if, the Timberwolves can find a way to somehow upset the defending champion Nuggets in this series, Anthony Edwards will cement himself as one of the faces of the entire league.
