Florida Blue-Collar Worker Orders Outback Steakhouse To Go While Staying In Hotel. He Can’t Even Eat His Meal: ‘Count Your Days Outback’

When you’ve had a long, tough day at work, even the smallest inconvenience can set you off. One Florida lineman says an Outback Steakhouse dinner order “ruined his life” after a particularly tiring day, when all he wanted was to enjoy his meal.

In his video, which got over 70,100 views, TikTok creator Dax Maddox (@daxmaddox) lists all the things that went wrong with his order, calling out the restaurant directly.

What Went Wrong With His Outback Steakhouse Order?

“So I go get me some to-go Outback Steakhouse after a nice long day of work today,” Maddox says at the start of the video.

First, he says he was not particularly pleased with the steak.

“Got me a nice s—– looking New York strip,” he says, holding the meal up to the camera.

Then, he says Outback Steakhouse forgot to include a side dish he ordered.

“The sweet potato that was never in the bag. It’s gone,” he says.

According to Maddox, Outback included the toppings for the sweet potato, but not the actual potato.

Maddox says he started looking through the bag and realized there was no silverware included, either.

“It’s like, that’s cool,” he says.

Since he was staying in a hotel room, he had to improvise. He says he found a plastic fork lying around and started eating the salad with it. And that didn’t go so well.

“The croutons are as hard as a f—– brick,” he says.

According to Maddox, the croutons were so hard that they broke the plastic fork. “So I shattered the entire fork,” he says, showing the now-prongless fork to the camera.

By that point, the whole meal had gone off the rails.

“And at this point, it just can’t get much worse,” he says. “So thank you, Outback, for ruining my whole life. F—.”

What Should You Do If Your Order Is Missing Food?

No customer enjoys opening their food delivery to find something is missing. However, you’ll most likely get a refund if you paid for something you never received.

If you picked up the order yourself, call the restaurant right away. Tell them what is missing and give them the order number. Usually, the fix is either a replacement for the missing item or a refund for that part of the meal.

If you ordered through a food delivery service, it’s best to report the issue directly through the app and follow the prompts.

Other Common Outback Steakhouse Complaints

Maddox is not the only customer to complain about a recent Outback Steakhouse experience.

In one video, a woman criticized the food quality itself, calling her meal “retched” and saying the produce seemed old. She was also disappointed by the steak, which is not ideal for a steakhouse.

Another complaint came from a North Carolina family who said they waited 30 minutes just to receive one cheesecake. During that same visit, they also noticed a large number of dirty dishes that had allegedly been left unattended.

A third customer said the service was the issue. According to him, he waited around 15 minutes without anyone taking his order, then eventually gave up and walked out.

‘Disappointing’

In the comments, some viewers said Maddox should have gone somewhere else.

“Everyone knows Texas Roadhouse is where it’s at,” one commenter wrote.

Another viewer focused on the hotel setup, saying Maddox may have had another silverware option nearby.

“As a weekly work hotel stayer, that looks like a Home2Suites setup,” they wrote. “With a kitchen, they should 100% have real silverware and even knives.”

Others said they have also been disappointed by Outback lately. “Outback used to be the best, they’ve gone downhill over the years,” one commenter wrote. “The last few times I’ve gone it’s been so disappointing.”
