Author, TV host, chef, and newly-minted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition model Padma Lakshmi spent her 53rd birthday on the dance floor, as evidenced by some of her recent Instagram posts.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend to share her celebrations, Lakshmi posted a video of herself dancing around in a white dress that, while not quite a birthday suit, went viral either way.
In addition to the video from her birthday party, Lakshmi also shared a series of photos from her jaw-dropping SI Swimsuit photoshoot from earlier this year, saying that the photoshoot was a “milestone but just the tip of the iceberg” of her 52nd year.
“This year I was so blessed, with family and friends who were there for me, cradled me, uplifted me, made me laugh, and reminded me of how rich a life we can live- if we are open to change,” Lakshmi captioned the slideshow on Instagram.
“I won’t say it’s been all roses, there have been moments of serious anxiety, insecurity and just feeling lost and low. But then even in those moments, I realized there was a benefit to be had. A muscle to be strengthened. My heart is open and I am so very grateful. What a glorious year of growth and gratitude.”
The longtime host of the reality cooking competition series Top Chef — Lakshmi hosted the show from 2006 to 2023 — she’s also published six books and currently stars in the Hulu travel series Taste the Nation.
