Mimi (@xomi.00) believes she got played by Panda Express after seeing the portion size they gave her, which cost her $10
One of the reasons people love going to Panda Express is that they get a good bang for their buck, with large portion sizes. Nothing better than a protein-packed meal with a variety of sides to choose from. However, one woman was straight-up disappointed when she saw how big her $10 bowl was.
In a TikTok with over 931,700 views, Mimi (@xomi.00) believes she got played by Panda Express after seeing the portion size they gave her, which she says cost her $10.
Mimi starts out confused and disappointed sitting down at her work desk right before she eats her Panda Express. Her eyes roll looking at the Panda Express bowl.
She ordered a broccoli and beef fried rice bowl. However, she doesn’t believe it should cost what she paid for it.
“Guys why does Panda Express keep making their bowls smaller idk if this is worth $10,” the on-screen text reads.
The top of the bowl is sealed with a drink lid. Mimi showcases a small pink bowl with the map of the world printed out. Typically, Panda Express serves meals in black bowls, so this small pink bowl seems off to her.
She regretfully captions the post, “I should’ve asked for refund :/”
Should She Report Panda Express And Get Her Money Back?
Workers from Panda Express expressed in the comment section that they have never seen this bowl used before.
“I work at Panda wtf is this,” one TikTok commenter wrote.
“I work at Panda. That is straight up a lid for the drinks. Report them ASAP and get your money back,” another added.
Other viewers added that Mimi got played.
“Ooo girl they played in your face,” one commented.
“No way they gave you a soup cup,” one shared.
“Guys I literally asked and she was like ‘yeah we got new bowls,’” Mimi replied back.
“Report them to corporate. If it’s a franchise they are breaking the contract,” one suggested.
“I feel as if this is just your Panda. At mine it’s $5.97 for a bowl and it’s the size of half their foam tray. You should get a refund though that’s not $10 worth of food,” one shared.
Mimi did reveal in the comments that she filed a complaint with Panda Express.
How To Get A Refund From Panda Express
Considering food continues to rise, it’s disappointing to hear when a fast food retailer cuts portions with smaller containers. This isn’t the first time Panda Express has been questioned for shrinkflation. People have speculated that Panda Express is intentionally trying to cut down its portion by altering the containers in the past few years.
Looking at the cup that was used for Mimi’s order, it looks like the Panda Express used a 10-ounce cup from Eco Products. While the cup wasn’t Panda Express branded, it raises suspicion that a cup was used instead for a bowl. Considering the drink lid fit snugly on the alleged bowl, it appears an Eco Product cup was used.
So if you stumble across a container that feels small, this can be reported to Panda Express for a potential refund. Customers are able to report a complaint with the portion size using the website contact form. All that is needed is the order information, the store’s location, and general comments about the issue. Photos are optional but can definitely help the case in securing the refund.
